You can find all the info you need for Big Bend NP here. Rangers are very knowledgeable and friendly. There is free Wi-Fi, clean restroom, 3D map of the whole park and gift shop.

staff was a little slow to be helpful and seemed leary of my wife and I coming in and asking questions for some reason, but after a few minutes she relaxed and was helpful overall. Note we came in on a Harley and I think that may have made her a little nervous for some reason. My wife and I camp at State Parks all over the U.S. the park itself was very nice, lots to see. Watch out for the chiggers!

You can see a ~22 min intro movie upon request.

This is a great place to check out a movie about the park and talk to the Park Rangers about Big Bend. They are very knowledgeable about the area. We were able to go just this last week and the weather was beautiful! Make sure you pack sunscreen, hat, and water. You need to stay hydrated here! Also there's a limit to how much water can be used that they give out at water taps throughout the park within could reason. There isn't much around the desert so water is like gold, so please be mindful. Of course, keep an eye out on the wildlife and respect the plants. They ask visitors to not pick up anything and leave nature as it is. It is really beautiful country, lots of camping grounds and the Chisos Basin lodging. It was busy and all the campsites were full this past week so it would be good to call ahead if you plan to camp or lodge there.

The park staff are very helpful! Stop by for some postcards and souvenirs.
