Nice campground with a few good shady spots. A short drive to the Santa Elena overlook
Nice secluded campground right on the Rio Grande. I just spent 2 nights camping there and it was fantastic. Half of the fun is the Maxwell scenic drive through the park. I rode my motorcycle and was thoroughly impressed with the scenery and the twisty pavement. Highly recommended!
This campground is spot-on. It's location to the river and the water access for SUP'ing and boating in general is awesome. There is some good shade under the cottonwood trees. The pit toilets are cleaned daily and their is only one water source. All of the sites are level and there are no hookups if you're in need of them.
Good campground close to Santa Elena Canyon. I did not care for the over aggressive irrigation. Water ran in my area for over 24 hours. The reason was that the part time Park Help was ending and the Park Ranger did not know when they would be able to irrigate again......so I understand. They get a pass. ;-)
Not the fanciest campsite ever, but it is inside Big Bend National Park, so, location. No ground fires allowed, first come first served, toilets and potable water available. So many stars visible at night.
